
Section 1 – Joining the Airline
Lakefront Air allows anyone 13 or older to join. Lakefront Air allows our pilots to be from all skill levels, and from all over the world. We would like our pilots to speak English, although it is not required. To join Lakefront Air simply click on the
Join Today located on the top menu bar.
Section 2 – Application Process
Almost every pilot who signs up to join Lakefront will be accepted. If you have previously left another airline your hours will be transferred, if section was filled out on the application, if not you may contact a staff member. Our staff will review your application, and in most cases you will be ready to fly in less than 3 days, please be patient while we review your application. If you do not get a welcome email please contact a staff member. Lakefront Air stresses the fact to always act in a mature and professional manor, if the pilot is seen not acting this way, your membership can and will be terminated. We would have to keep our environment professional but at the same time we would like all our pilots to enjoy their experience. After your application has been approved you are ready to fly.
Before even taking to the skies you will need to download the aircraft. To download the aircraft please go to the
Operations, on the main menu bar, and then click on
Fleet. Once you are here choose the aircraft you wish to fly and download the appropriate simulator version. All pilots using FS2002 and below must contact the
Fleet Manager/Chief Operations Officer for special instructions. After downloading the aircraft you will need to install it, if you need help please contact the Fleet Manager/Chief Operations Officer. After installing your aircraft, click on
Operations, located on the main menu bar, and then click on
Routes. Please select a route from the list to fly and fly the appropriate aircraft for the flight. As a new pilot at Lakefront, we would like you complete your first flight in less than two weeks from registration. If you need assistance learning how to fly please contact one of our staff members and they will help you. Before going to a staff member for help please use the tutorials located on your Flight Simulator. After completing a flight simply click on
Flight Form and follow the steps there. Please be advised that you need to record your departure and arrival time. All flights must be a Lakefront Air scheduled flight.
Section 4 –Lakefront Air's Charter Services
Lakefront Air offers a wide verity of charter flights. The charter flights are either done by our special charter 737-200s or any of the other aircraft that are available that day. Our charter flights are based out of Oakland County International Airport located In Pontiac, Michigan but charter flights can depart from any airport. If you are interested in flying a charter flight please contact the Chief Operating Officer Chief Operations Officer. Please note that Lakefront Air’s charter service will be terminated on January 1, 2010.
Lakefront Air’s fleet consists of the following aircraft: the Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Dehavilland Dash-8-100 and the Embraer ERJ-140KE. You can download these aircraft in the
Fleet page, which is located under
Operations and then
Fleet on the website. All pilots using FS2002 and below must contact the Fleet Manager/Chief Operations Officer for special instructions. After downloading the aircraft you will need to install it, if you need help please contact the Fleet Manager/Chief Operations Officer. Although Lakefront Air does not have textures for paywear aircraft, you are welcome to use any texture you would like on a paywear aircraft.
Lakefront Air has our very own routes, with our hubs at Omaha, Nebraska; Cleveland, Ohio and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lakefront Air does not assign you to any specific route, but we only allow flights out of the three hubs. Flights can be done going to coming from each hub.
Section 7 – Communication
At Lakefront Air we would like to keep our strong community together. We do this by using various communications systems. We use a Twitter for quick updates on things going on at Lakefront Air. The link to the Twitter is available on the Home page of the website. We also use Skype for a communication system. Often times we will communicate with our members to see how things are going. If you are unaware of Skype please go to the website at www.skype.com.
