What is a Virtual Airline?
A virtual airline or VA is a dedicated hobby organization that uses flight simulation to model the operations of an airline. Virtual airlines generally have a presence on the Internet, similar to a real airline.

How often must I fly to retain an active member?
Lakefront encourage pilots to fly at least once a day, however you must fly at least once a month to remain an active member.  If you do not fly within one month your name will be removed from the pilot roster.  If you expect to not be able to fly for one month, a leave of absence can arranged.

Application Process

Where do I start?
We suggestion to all pilots and future pilots to read through the Pilots Guide located on the pilot center page.  Once you read the guide book most of your questions should be answered.

I submitted by application but have not received a confirmation email?
In most cases it can take up to four days for your application to be approved.  If you have already waited more than four days, simple resubmit your application or contact a Lakefront Air staff member.

I keep on getting an error message when I fill out the application form?
If you get an error message please email a Lakefront Air staff member, before doing so make sure all the required fields have been filled out.

Hubs

What is a hub?
Your hub is your “virtual” home base, the airport where you are based out of.

Do you have to fly out of your hub?
No, as long as you do a Lakefront Air flight from one of the three hubs.

Can I change my hub?
Yes, please send hub requests to Public Relations using the “Contact Us” located on the website.

Flight Reporting

Can I speed up my simulation rate?
Yes, as long as you recorded your hours in real-world time and not Flight Simulator time.

Do I have to fly a Lakefront Air route?
Yes, this is a virtual airline and you are required to fly one of our routes located on the routes page.

What aircraft do I use?
You should fly the aircraft scheduled for the flight; this can be found on the route page next to the specific route.

When do I submit my PIREP?
You should submit your PIREP directly after completing your flight.

How do I submit a PIREP?
To submit a PIREP click on “Flight Form” located on the main menu bar and follow the steps from there.

If I need to contact someone, where do I go and who do I contact?
If you need to contact someone click on “Contact Us” located on the home page of the website.  In most cases send your questions to Public Relations.

What is Skype?
Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet.
